Camping is one of our favorite family activities. Both my husband and I grew up camping with family or friends, and as adults it’s a hobby we still both enjoy. Fortunately for us, life in St. Louis means lots of near by state run campgrounds, at a fraction of the price compared to KOA and other ‘for profit’ camp areas. We try to get in at least a few camping trips each year, and with so many parks to choose from within a few hours drive it’s usually pretty easy to do. Rolf enjoys camping for the interesting nature hikes, and because it gives him a chance to go out and ride some of the scenic roads that he might not get to if he were just going for a day trip. Tommy and I enjoy just relaxing around the campground in our hammocks reading books, or playing games. It’s nice to get out of the house and have a chance to unwind.
